Gautam Buddha, a pilgrimage to the seat of enlightenment

My friend, Aditi Bhaduri, sent me an article which she has co-authored recently about Gautam Buddha, the founder of Buddhism and He became the Awakened One, the Compassionate One, the Light of the World, the Buddha, the Supreme. She and her co-author have written about this remarkable man and how one can go on a pilgrimage to his seat of awakening.

Bit ironic when in my previous essay, I have written about the Buddha, it was not really from that perspective but a different one. Still, go check out the article and if you can, go see the place. But now that i think more about it, Buddhist temples and stupa's are generally very peaceful, very peaceful indeed. I grew up very near a very important Buddhist place of pilgrimage called as Sanchi in Madhya Pradesh, in the centre of India. Another article here on Sanchi. Its a very quiet place, but you cant, obviously go inside the stupas. But you can go around them, sit there and observe the intricate carvings, and it is indeed very peaceful and quiet. Lovely place.

All this to be taken with a grain of piquant salt!!!
