I agree with this. Record keeping in financial institutions is a mess, and data or record management is frankly looked upon as something which is an admin chore or an IT chore. Good institutions have processes and procedures to use their records and transactions to derive business intelligence, but I suppose this is too much to ask. Perhaps they can just achieve regulatory requirements.
All this to be taken with a grain of piquant salt!!!
